Tuesday

Today we continued with our Fraction review and our Santa Work Package. For History the 8-2 class watched a documentary on the Reclamation.

Monday

Today for math we did a review on Fractions. After that we worked on our Santa Work Package. The 8-1 class watched a documentary on the Reclamation.

Friday

Today we had our Unit 4 Math test. After that we worked on our movie posters for the final day. At the end of the day for Movie and PJ day we watched elf. The 8-3 class completed chapter 8.

Thursday

We started the day with a Social. After that we worked on history and completed chapter 8. For Math we did the Unit 4 Review, pages 175 -176, questions 1,3,5,6,7,9,16.18.21,22 and 24. We also continued with the Movie Poster and the Santa Work package.

Wednesday

Today for Math we worked on 4.9 out of the text book and had a quiz on it. For Language we worked on reading comp and continued with our Movie posters. For History the 8-1 class completed chapter 8.

Tuesday

Today we had a quiz on 4.8. WE also had reading comp and continued with our Movie Posters. For History the 8-3 class started chapter 8.

Friday

Today for math we had another review and quiz on 4.7. We then moved to 4.8, pages 167-168, questions 1,2,3,4 and 10. For Language we worked on reading comp and had our final day for our Santa story. For History the 8-1 class started chapter 8.

Thursday

Today for Math we worked on 4.7 and had a quiz on it. For Language we worked on reading comp and the Santa Story. For History the 8-3 class completed chapter 7.

Wednesday

Today for MAth we worked on 4.6 from the text book, reviewed it and had a quiz on it. For Language we continued with the Santa story and reading comp. For History the 8-2 class completed chapter 7.

Tuesday

Today for Math we worked on the Mid-Unit Review page 156, questions 1,2,4,6,8,9,11 and 12. For Language we worked on reading comp and our Santa story. For History the 8-1 class completed chapter 7. We also had a presentation on Drugs and Addiction today.

Monday

Today we started our new writing assignment called "Santa Story" We also had an extra History class to keep up with the other two classes. The 8-3 class also had history and started chapter 7.

Friday

Today for math we continued with 4.5 and did a few more questions. We then reviewed them and had a quiz. we then had a game on Fractions. For Language we did reading comp and had our final day for the comics. There was no rotary today.

Thursday

Today for Amth we worked on 4.5 pages 153 to 155, questions 1,2,3,4,5 and 7. For Language we worked on reading comp and continued with our comics. For History the 8-1 class started chapter 7.

Wednesday

Today for Math we worked on 4.4 page 150, all questions. We then reviewed this and had a quiz on it. For Language we worked on reading comp and continued with our Comics. For History the 8-3 class used the Inquiry process to complete chapter 6.

Tuesday

Today for Math we reviewed 4.3 and then had a quiz on it. For Language we had reading comp and continued with our comic's. For History the 8-2 class used the Historical Inquiry Process to complete chapter 6.

Monday

Today for Math we worked on 4.3, pages 146 to 147, questions 1,2,4,6,7 and 12. For Language we started a new assignment for writing, which is a 6 square comic. We also had reading comp. For History the 8-1 class used HIP to complete chapter 6.

Thursday

Today for Math we worked on 4.2 from the text book, questions 1,2,5,6 and 11. We then reviewed these questions and had a quiz on them. For Language we had reading comp, and worked on the News article. For history the 8-2 class started chapter 6. Tonight is Parent/teacher interviews.

Wednesday

Today for Math we reviewed and then had a quiz on 4.1. We also worked on reading comp and continued with the News Article. For History the 8-1 class started chapter 6. Remember Report Card interviews are tomorrow night!!!!!!

Tuesday

Today for Math we began working on Unit 4 by starting with the Skills you'll need and then 4.1, page 137, questions 1,2,3,4 and 5. For Language we continued with our News articles and reading comp. For History the 8-3 class started chapter 6.

Monday

Today for Math we did a quick review and then had the Unit 3 test. For Language our writing assignment is a news Article on the London Bridge. We also had reading comp. For History the 8-2 class completed chapter 5.

Thursday

Today for Math we worked on the Practice Test for Unit 3. Tomorrow will be the Unit TEST!!!!!!! For Language we continued with the Outsiders cover and reading comp. For History the 8-3 class completed chapter 5.

Today we had our high school trips that went very well.

Tuesday

Today we reviewed 3.4 and then had a quiz on it. For Language we worked on reading comp, and continued with our Outsiders cover. For History the 8-1 and 8-2 class started chapter 5. Tomorrow is the High School trips!

Monday

Today we reviewed the quiz from Thursday on Surface Area, 3.3 and then worked on 3.4 "Volume" today, pages 119 to 121, questions 1,2,3,5,8,9 and 11. For Language we started our new assignment for writing , which is making a new cover for the Outsiders book, with a summary on the back. For History the 8-3 class started chapter 5.

Wednesday

Today for Math we completed our Numeracy Nets and work sheet for it. For Language we worked on Chapters 11 and 12 from the Outsiders and our Historical Fiction. For History the 8-3 class worked on a title page for Unit 2. Their projects were due today!!!!

Tuesday

Today started with a presentation from Assumption for the majority of the class. After that we had our final day for working on our history projects. They are due Friday November 9th, 2018. After that we made numeracy nets for Math.

Monday

Today for math we worked on 31. from the text in groups and then had a quiz on it out of the Homework book. For Language we started our new writing assignment, "Historical Fiction". Students will have the week to work on this. We also worked on chapter 10 from the Outsiders. For History the 8-1 class had their third and final class to work on their projects. It is due Thursday Nov. 8th, 2018.

Thursday

End of a short week! Today we continued with the Halloween work package and reviewed the brain teasers. For Math we started 3.1 and worked in groups to complete a couple of assignments. We will continue with it on Monday. For History the 8-3 class had their final class to work on their history projects. They are due Wednesday Nov. 7th, 2018.

Happy Halloween!

Today was an easier day for the 8-2 class. We started by watching a Halloween movie and completing an outline for it. This was followed by working on our history projects and then the Dance.

Tuesday

Today for math we had a quiz on the Skills you'll Need for Unit 3. We then reviewed it and had a bonus question, which the class got correct and will have an easier day tomorrow as a result. They also continued with chapter 9 and the Halloween work packages. For History the 8-1 class had their 2nd of three classes for their project.

Short Week!

Today for Math we worked on the Skills you'll need for Unit 3, page 98, 100, questions 3 and 4. For Language we started chapter 9 for the Outsiders and for the students that have completed all of their assignments, they get a Halloween work package. The rest get extra time to complete past assignments. Wednesday is the Halloween Dance and Friday is a PD day. For History the 8-3 class had their second of three classes for their project.

Friday

Today we started our History projects. The students will get three classes in total to complete them. After that we4 had a High School Presentations. This was followed by our final day to work on chapter 8 and the brochure.

Thursday

Today for Math we reviewed the Practice test and then had the unit 2 test. For Language we continued with chapter 8 and our Brochures. For History the 8-1 class started their projects. They will get three classes to work on them.

Wednesday

Today for Math we reviewed 2.7 and had a quiz on it. Students then worked on the Practice Test on page 91, all questions. For Language we started chapter 8 and continued with the Brochure. For History the 8-3 class started their history projects. They will get three classes to work on them.

Tuesday

Today for Math we worked on 2.7 pages 84 and 85, questions 1,2,3,4,5 and 10. For Language we continued with chapter 7 and the brochure. For History the 8-2 class completed chapter 4 and will start their projects next class.

Monday

Today for Math we reviewed 2.6 and had a quiz on it. For Language we started chapter 7 for the outsiders and our new writing assignment for this week, which is a Brochure on anything they want. For History the 8-1 class completed chapter 4 and will begin their projects next class.

Friday

Today for Math we worked on 2.6, pages 79 to 81, questions 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 and 10. For Language we had our final day for chapter 6 and our Halloween story. For History the 8-3 class completed chapter 4 and will begin their projects next class.

Thursday

Today for Math we had a quiz on 2.5. For Language we continued with chapter 6 for Novel study and our Halloween story. For History the 8-2 class started chapter 4 by writing a news article about Louis Riel.

Monday

Today for Math we reviewed 2.4 from the text and then had a quiz on it. For Language we started chapter 5 from the Outsiders and started our Halloween story. For History the8-2 class completed a review of chapter 3.

Wednesday

Today for math we4 reviewed 2.2 and then had a quiz on it. For Language we continued with our AD Poster, and chapter 3 for the Outsiders. For History the 8-2 class completed chapter 3 by making their own Indian Act.

Tuesday

Today for Math we worked on 2.3, pages 67 to 68, all questions. For Language we started chapter 3 for the Outsiders and our Advertising poster. In History the 8-1 class completed chapter 3 by creating their own "Indian Act".

Friday

Today for Math we worked on 2.2 from the text, reviewed it and had the quiz on it. For Language we continued with the Outsiders chapter 2 and the Turkey Story. This is the last day to work on both. For History the 8-3 class completed chapter 3 by creating their own "Indian Act".

Thursday

Our morning started with a Social in the Gym, followed by a meal. After that we worked on our chapter 2 from the outsiders and our Turkey Story. For Math we review the quiz from 2.1 and started on 2.2. Students will get more time to work on 2.2 tomorrow so there is no homework for math tonight.

Wednesday

Today for Math we reviewed 2.1 from the text book and had a quiz on it. For Language we started chapter 2 for "The Outsiders", and continued with our Turkey Story. For History the 8-1 class started chapter 3.

Tuesday

Today for Math we worked on 2.1, pages 55 to 56 and questions 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 and 10. For Language we continued with chapter 1 from the Outsiders and our Turkey story. For History the 8-3 class started chapter 3.

Monday

Today for Math we started Unit 2 and worked on the skills you'll nee pages 50 to 52, all questions. For Language we started a new story this week, where the students have to write a story from the perspective of a Turkey before Thanks Giving. We also start our Novel Study, "The Outsiders", chapter 1.

Friday

Our day started with an assembly. For Math we had our Unit 1 test. For Language we had our final day to work on our News Articles. For History the 8-1 class did a review for chapter 2.

Thursday

Today for Math we took up the Review and then worked on the Practice test in groups. For Language we continued with the news article and reading comp. For History the 8-3 class worked on a review for chapter 2.

Tuesday

Today for Math we reviewed 1.6 and then had a quiz on it. For Language we continued with our News articles, reading comp and grammar. For History the 8-1 class used the Inquiry Process to complete chapter 2. I will be away tomorrow for Cross Country.

Monday

Today for Math we worked on 1.6 out of the Text book and then reviewed it and had a quiz on it. For Language we started a new writing assignment which is a News Paper article on anything they want. They also worked on reading comp and grammar. For History the 8-3 class used the Inquiry process to complete chapter 2.

Today for Math we worked on Mathplayground and did a review for Order of operations. For Language we continued with Autobio, grammar and reading comp. For History the 8-1 class started chapter 2.

Wednesday

Today for Math we reviewed 1.5 from the text and then had a quiz on it. For Language we continued with the Autobio, reading comp and grammar. For History the 8-3 class started chapter 2. Tonight is Meet the Teacher night!

Tuesday

Today for math we worked on the Mac Lab and practiced our multiplication skills on the mathplaygroud web site. For Language we continued with our Autobio's, reading comp and grammar. For History the 8-2 class started chapter 2. There is a cross country practice tonight and meet the teacher tomorrow night.

Monday

Today for Math we reviewed 1.4 from the Text Boo (Order of Operations) and then had a quiz on it. For Language we started a new writing assignment called "Autobiography". ?We also worked on grammar and reading comp. For History the 8-1 class completed chapter 1.

Friday!

TOday we worked on our My Summer story, reading comp and grammar. We also had a presentation on recycling and today was picture day. For History the 8-3 class completed chapter 1.

Thursday

Today for Math we worked on 1.4 out of the text, page 27, questions 1,2,3,4 and 6a. For Language we continued with the My Summer story, reading comp and grammar. For History the 8-2 class completed chapter 1.

Wednesday

Today for math we reviewed and had a quiz on 1.2. For Language we continued with reading comp grammar and the My Summer story. For History the 8-1 class started chapter 1.

Tuesday

Today for Math we worked on 1.2 pages 12 to 18, questions 1,2,3,4 and then go back and find the GCF and LCM for question 4 a. For Language we continued with our My Summer story and worked on another grammar sheet and reading comp sheet. For History the 8-3 class started chapter 1. Tonight was the first Cross country practice. The next one will be on Thursday.

Monday

Today for Math we worked on 1.1 out of the text and had a quiz on it. For Language we worked on a fun grammar sheet and had reading comp handout. We also started our first writing assignment called "My summer". They hae the week to complete this assignment. For History the 8-2 class started chapter 1.

Short week

Today was the final day of a short week. Tomorrow is a PD day. We worked on our Name Plates and safety poster. For Math we worked on question 8 from page 8. For History the 8-1 class had their introduction to chapter 1 and a title page.

Day 2!!!

Today we continued with our Name Plates and did an OCA assignment. For History the 8-3 class were introduced to Unit 1 and completed a title page. For Math the 8-2 class found the Key terms for Unit one and completed the Skills you'll need on pages 6-8.

Welcome Back!!!!

Welcome back to another school year. The New 8-2 class have a lot ahead of them this year. They started with History today and had an introduction to the new Unit. The also started their Name Plates. At the end of the day we did an OWA assessment.
